Well its finally here...the world cup has started and as a Big football fan, I feel its only right if I write something about the world cup or perhaps football in general.

Football is like religion in so many ways, but the thing I love most is the way that it unites people - I know it does also seperate people but if you happened to see the news you'll have seen lots of fans dancing and cheering. United in victory, it also has the same effect by bringing people together when a team loses...But how can we say God in all of the hype?

Easy, look at the joy when a team wins...God is in the joy. But he is also in the pain when another team loses. So often you hear of people praying to God to help their team win. I know I have done it...and God likes the fact that people turn to him - even if it is just for that one instance.

Rejoice and know that the world cup may have taken the world by storm...But God is also right in the middle of it, and you'll see lots of teams having with God in the middle, they pray at the start and pray when they score. They give God the glory for the success.

Task of the week - perhaps pick a team a say a quick prayer for its members and families.
